Recently our Maytag washing machine stopped performing the final spin. After more than an hour and the machine appearing to be done, I go back only to find the clothes still wet and the "Wash" light lit. I move the dial to spin and it spins just fine. After reading the manual it tells me I’m using too much detergent or overloading the machine. I used less HE detergent and only loaded halfway and it still gets stuck. It does perform the wash cycle and rinse cycle normally. It spins normally. I open it and find the clothes dripping wet but pushed towards the outside of the drum. After playing around I decided to turn off the Extra Rinse feature and guess what? It works fine now. How can having the Extra Rinse feature turned on suddenly cause the washer to not perform the final rinse/spin cycle?
