Maytag Washer - Stopped and Now Does Nothing

I have a maytag washer that’s over 10 years old that has worked well until recently.

It started a few days ago where if it was supposed to be doing a full wash cycle, it would start out fine and then it would stop. My wife was always able to just turn the knob a bit then pull it out and it would start going again and finish properly.

This time, it stopped during the rinse cycle and will not do ANYTHING at all now. At first I thought maybe the breaker was tripped etc as it was doing nothing but I tested the outlet and it’s fine. Then my wife told me about the previously described issues that had been going on for the past few days.

What do you guys think it is?

Do you think it’s worth just replacing the knob?

If so, where should I order it from?

Is there a website that has instructions on how to replace the knob?

Now I’m thinking maybe it could be the lid switch as that would stop it from doing anything.

Although, it should still fill even if the lid switch is open so maybe that’s not it.
