I had this washer (received from friend not new) for a little over a year. Occasionally it would make a horrific noise during wash and spin cycle. The noise has become more frequent (almost every time). Well now it seems to jam as soon as its done filling up slight humming sounds; then proceeds to turn off completely. There is also a smell of burning plastic afterwards… I don’t know the first thing about washers. But what the hell, I’m willing to try! I really don’t have the money to have a service call :(. If there is any information someone could give i would greatly appreciate it!!

It is extremely obnoxious, I would have to say squealing grinding as well knocking as if it were off balance… occurring during wash and spin cycles. Its been doing it since I got it with increasing frequency. But now it refuses to switch cycles and hums a bit then turns off.
