Maytag Washer stops working towards the end of the cycle

Rinse and spin only, normal cycle, clean cycle. All cycles work until the countdown reaches approximately 8 minutes left and then the lid lock light starts to blink and does not unlock the lid and the drum stops spinning. The pump continues to pump until the washer is empty but then stops and the washer then will do nothing until you unplug it.

Wyocallie,
So, you do not have an error code in the display ? and the washer does not spin at all. Without a model number, it’s a bit difficult. You’ll need to raise the top of the washer, and get the tech data sheet in the envelope taped to the inside of the front panel, and conduct the diagnostic and manual component tests. We can make a determination from there.

Thanks,

It is a Maytag Bravos and that is the strange thing, we never got an error code. I am trying to avoid calling a tech to the house just to pay them a fortune just to have them tell me it’s a cheap part to fix. We have narrowed it down to the lid lock switch or the timer.

The washer starts spinning and then stops and the lid lock light starts blinking. Happens every time it gets to about 8 minutes left. I am stumped.

Wyocallie,
We were hoping you’d attach a model number, but, It sounds like your issue is in the lid lock switch or the wiring.

These may help you to determine the issue:
