Sorry for the long post but here it goes.
I have the microwave/oven unit and the microwave just stopped heating, oven works fine. Had a service tech come out and work on it, he testing a bunch of stuff and concluded the mag was out. Put everything back together since he had to order the part and it started heating. The next day same thing, no heat. The tech returned with a new mag and installed it, everything worked fine. Two days later no heat again. He returned two more times simply removing the control panel and testing made it work for a day or so. After leaving the last time the digital display was missing some of the lines. Finally called another service center and they came out replaced the door contact switches and it started heating and the display was back to normal. After heating one piece of pizza it stopped heating. Another tech came removed control panel did his testing and concluded it was the mag. Put it back together and now the only button on the contol panel that works in the start button on the microwave side.
Could all of these issues be caused by a bad control panel? This last tech now want to sell me a new control panel for $250 and the micro controller behind it for $470.
Any ideas for things to try?
