About a month ago we we had to start only drying half a load of clothes at a time because the drum wouldn’t turn with a full load. A couple days ago I heard a squealing noise and when I opened the dryer a pen had lodged in between the lint trap and the drum causing the drum to bind up and not let it turn. Everyone said it had to be the belt(by all I meant 2 people I asked). It wasn’t broken but i had bought one so what the hay, i replaced it. Then it had to be the rollers, they roll like a champ. The slide things on the front of the drum seem fine. The motor is running although it seems to have a peculiar smell.(it’s not a funny smell when it is going to cost money) So I’m still looking for the problem and how to fix it because now its personal. Please help!

If the drum turns fairly easily in the correct direction then the motor is the problem.
You may want to try this on a couple other units to get a feel for it.
If the drum supports, rollers and seals/felts are all OK then all that is left is the motor.
