Near flood averted - nonstop flow out icemaker

Stepped into kitchen late last night to find water flowing out the ice dispenser. Found that icemaker was overflowing nonstop inside the freezer. Turned off the water supply under the sink.

Is this a matter of a failed water valve and/or whatever switch sends an "open" signal to the valve? This Maytag has two water valves, one is direct input with output to the water filter. Filtered water flows back to another valve that sends it on to the water dispenser and ice maker (two output lines).

IF you unplug the icemaker and the water continues it is the valve. IF you unplug the icemaker and the water stops it is the icemaker continually calling for water.
