Need help with spring location on D/D Whirlpool

I had a bad vibration in the rinse cycle, which caused the coupler to break. I’ve replace the coupler, but whenb I removed the cabinet, I noticed a spring lying on the ground under the washer.

I see the three larger diameter "suspension springs" and those are in place. The spring is a fourth, and smaller diameter spring, which has one short end and one 3" long "tail". I have no idea where this fits, if it was the initial cause of my vibration problem, or a result of the problem.

I see the sping in the diagrams for parts, but don’t know what it’s called or where it hooks in. Any help on location would be appreciated!

The spring goes in the back, and to see exactly how it goes on I suggest you buy this manual.

It is a good reference and even after paying to it and the part you will still be way ahead vs paying for a service call, and have a manual on your machine for future reference.
