Not sure if this message got out the the first time, so here we go again.
I installed a brand new Icemaker - Whirlpool - Model @ D7824706Q and it’s not making ice. As I took the old icemaker out, I was careful to take note how it came out. I installed the new icemaker backtracking on how I took the old one out. The electrical hook up was simple since it’s just a plug, and there’s nothing to directing the water line into the icemaker. I turned the freezer back on and thought that once the temperature was cold enough, the icemaker would do it’s thing, but no ice and it’s been over 24 hours since installation. In fact, there’s no water in the icemaker’s reservoir…How does the freezer know when to pump water into the icemaker? And yes, I put the icemaker’s bar down into the ice making positiion. I’m guessing the problem is either there’s a problem with my water line ( which I did not tamper with when taking out the old icemaker) or the electrical is not functioning, althought I double checked the plug connecting the icemaker to the freezer.
Sure would appreciate any advise…thanks.
