Need new pump after 3+ years of no use?

This is a 9 year old Bosch dishwasher After a kitchen remodel, a hose was pinched during reinstall. Would have been necessary to tear up tile to fix. 3+ years later, after no use at all, a repairman says the pump will either be fried, or will need repair shortly. And, that other repairs will be coming down the road due to non-use and the unit’s age.

He did not fix the hose and run with the money nor did he try to sell us a new unit. He said that, since the home is now a rental, would be cheaper to buy a new unit than to keep repairing. Seems like an honest answer.

Question: Should we risk having repairman fix the hose and check the pump which may or may not be faulty and pay $xx only to have it break later? Or should we buy a new unit now?

Thanks! Home Depot is set to deliver a new unit on Thursday!!
