Need specific instructions to install Starter Kit

I keep seeing that this is a simple repair (installing a new startup kit), however when I look at the compressor, I see a wire guard, and a kludge of plastic crap. the part should be in tomorrow, but I was wondering if there are instructions with the part, or if someone can actually spell out the steps I need to go through to put this puppy back together. Do I install all the pieces, one of the pieces? is it just plug and play or do I need to cut wires, etc.? I dont want to get the part then start looking up answers on this site to move forward. any input would be greatly appreciated. pics would be cool too. thanks in advance.

If the old start device is the same as the new one, just plug it in and plug in the fridg connector and run capacitor.

The given model number does not look like a Whirlpool number. They usually include letters.

Was the unit bought from Sears?
Their model numbers are usually 3 digits, a period and then 6 to 8 additional digits.

If you look the part up at AppliancePartsPros and then click on it’s picture, a new page will open with more info on that part re: what is included and often a Q&A section about that part.

i guess my question is, the pic shows several components… i see one large one on the compressor… not sure what comes off and how many other parts go on. is there a plastic housing covering the other pieces … I just dont see how this many individual pieces ‘replaces’ the one module I see on the compressor. I’m sure I’m missing something simple, but it aint clickin… thanks again.

Give me the part number of the new start device so I can help.
