New Timer Part Doesn't Work

Our Maytag dryer timer part #WPL 33002803 ordered from Appliance Parts doesn’t work after installation.
The original timer when reinstalled in dryer works still but intermittent after numerous tries. This is the 2nd part we have tried installing with no luck.
Is there anything else to try? Maytag MDG6400AWW. Gas dryer

First check your electrical 120v going to unit make sure to check the amp draw and breaker and make sure your dryer is on a good receptacle…hot to hot…neutral to neutral and a good ground and a good solid connection…You probably have a bad connection at the timer or an electrical issue going to the unit possibly i highly doubt that you would have 2 bad brand new timers that would have the same issue…did you properly diagnose the problem to begin with?..you sure you ordered the right timer and have the right model number for your unit? Check the harness connection wiggle it while testing to trying to start see if you see any loose wires pulling on the connector or any sparks when it starts.

Yes, we checked the wires/connection. I gave the stores both our model number and serial number when ordering the 2 different timers.
Our old timer still works but when reinstalled do don’t think its the connection/wired. Frustrated, might be time to buy a new dryer.

Ok…the ground connection was checked already. But will try again and wiggle the wire and try the voltage tester. Thank you.
