My wife just bought a new GE washer and paid to have it delivered and installed. The guys that installed it started it up and told her to let it run for one cycle to test it out and then left. After it filled up with waterand began running it started making a hellacious racket and started bucking and bouncing all over the place. She called Sears back and after talking to the salesman it was determined that the guys that installed it had forgotten to take out a rod that went into the drum which was put in for shipping purposes. She found the steel rod and slid it out and the washer seems to run fine now. She questioned the salesman about any damage that could have caused by running the washer with that shipping lock rod in and he said it wouldn’t hurt it at all which is what i would expect him to say. My question is does anyone know if any concealed damage or wear and tear could have taken place when this happened and should I call and get them to bring another washer out to replace this one
