The washer will not fill when set to cold. It will fill when set to warm/cold or warm but when it comes time to rinse it will not fill. I was out of town a few weeks ago and the pressure switch on our well system failed in the on position causing the water pressure in our home to rise to the point where hot water was being pushed back into the cold water lines. I did replace the switch but now the washing machine does not work properly. Is it possible that some sedimant and debris from the hot water tank could be blocking the inlet? The machine does hum when I pull the knob but no water. The machine only rinses cold so when the warm water cycle is done and it spins It will not refill. Thanks for any help.
I checked both screens and they are not clogged. Could the flow valve be plugged?
Could the flow valve be plugged?
Very unlikely
More likely is that the valve is shot OR it is not getting power.
Check it with a meter during a cold fill, if it has 120 volts across it and is not opening, it is shot.
If you do not have a meter you can swap the wires from the hot over to the cold and vice versa.
You know that the machine does give power to the hot valveas it opens.
Now try a hot fill if it fills with cold you know the valve is OK and it is not getting power.
If it does not fill then you have confirmed that the valve is shot.
Thanks ill check it this after noon.
