no getting cold at all

the fan runs but nothing is getting cold

Sorry the refrigerator and freezer are not getting cold air is flowing . i need some pointers as to were to look for the problem .

Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath the fridge is running.
Is the compressor motor near that fan running.
Are the coils warm ,cold or hot.

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. stopped up? clear? ice in one spot . frost everywhere.

The condenser fan is running.

I dont think the compressor motor is running . is the motor built into the freon tank ?

what coils are you asking about the one inside the frezze section seen to be room temp.

the evaporator fan is running . I dont see a vent to open or close from frezzer to frig . the coil shows no signs of old frost lines . the coil is room temp . I wish there was frost or ice but we have zip!

The freon tank is the compressor and it has a motor in it. If it doesn’t run it will not cool any. Turn it off for a while and have someone turn it back on while you watch and listen at the compressor.There is a starter/overload relay you may be able to hear click. No rattle no noise coming from the freon tank motor . its a solid state coil . I checked it see if there was a any voltage at it and didnt see any . what voltage would it be . I pulled it off and no rattle or noise from the coil or over load

I dont see a link so I look at the one from before and it dosent show anyting on how to do a solid state or how many ohms it should read?

ok 12 ohms across the relay.

Test the compressor motor for continuity using a multitester. Set the multitester to the ohms setting X1.

Place one probe on any terminal and then touch the other probe to each of the other two terminals. The multitester should display a reading of zero ohms.

Now move the first probe to a different terminal and test the other two terminals with the other probe. Finally, move the first probe to the last terminal and test each of the other terminals with the other probe. Every test should have continuity with the multitester displaying zero ohms. If the compressor motor does not pass all of these tests, the compressor will require professional service.

Now test the compressor for ground. With the multitester still set to X1, touch one probe to bare metal on the compressor housing (it may be necessary to scratch away a little paint to expose the metal). Touch the other probe to each of the three terminals in turn.

None of the terminals should have continuity; the multitester should display a reading of infinity. If any of the grounding tests show continuity, the compressor will require professional service.
