Hello Guys! This ice maker is not filling with water. There is water up to the water valve. I depressed switch on ice maker and nothing. Temp in air flow duct to ice maker is 0 degrees faranhiet, and freezer compartment is minus 1. Water valve is a bit unusual compared to what I’m used to, I was considering puting a test cord to it 120 volts since thats what the sticker on the valve reads but wanted to check with you guys first. I’m assuming the switch on the ice maker is to initialize harvest (I’m used to using a jumper wire)can you folks point me in the right direction? Please! Thanks in advance.
Smart valve will always have 120 VAC at P1-4 and P1-5. P1-1 is the AC input from the ice-maker to start the fill request. 120 VAC for any length of time signals the valve to fill the ice-maker. Fills by volume and not by time. 14 VDC will always be present at P2-1 and P2-3.
Unsnap and remove the cover from the smart valve housing. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 10 scale. Touch the ohmmeter test leads to either coil connector. The meter should indicate between 240 and 280 Ω. Ice Maker Coil (Red) Dispenser Coil (Green)

Thanks Rickgburton I ohmed out smart valve read 250.When you say water fills by volume is it controled by s/valve or does the ice maker still in control as in time fill? Since the s/valve ohms ok I guess I should turn my attention to ice maker, when I depress switch on ice maker nothing happens, haven’t cheked voltage to ice maker yet as it really seems like a mission to remove or get to I think the ceiling has to be removed? will be tackling that in the next couple of days I want to make sure before ordering ice maker. Thanks again Rick for your great help in this matter! George
It’s probably the ice maker that’s causing the issue. Try to force cycle the ice maker. If it doesn’t start a harvest cycle, replace the entire ice maker, part# W10122559
To force cycle the ice-maker, remove the cover over the ice maker module and locate holes “T” and “H”. Take a small piece of wire bent in the shape of a U and short “T” and “H” together. The ice-maker will start the harvest cycle. Wait about 10 seconds and remove wire. The Ice maker will continue through the cycle.
