NO water, but has new valve

Have a Bosch SHE43M02UC/48 with no water coming in. Replaced the water valve and it worked for one week, then did the same thing. The water and power are both on and it makes noise like it’s running. When I start it, it starts making noise immediately, but when it’s working properly there is normally a slight delay before I hear anything.
I just tried starting it again, after weeks of it not working, and it started right up, water and all. Any suggestions?

Timothy,

Remove the toe panel and try to pinpoint the noise at the start time. Is it coming from the main pump or from the drain pump?

Gene.

Gene,
As of last night, the thing seems to be working again, but I don’t know for how long this time. The noise on start-up when it wasn’t working seemed to come from the right side. I’m not sure which motor is where. It was also slightly louder when this happened and the water was not pumped in.

Timothy,

Possible it was some water in the dishwasher base which caused the float switch to shut down the dishwasher and start the drain pump. The drain pump empties out the sump and hoses, not the base. So the drain pump will run until the water leak into the base stops and/or the water in the base evaporates.

Gene.

Thanks, Gene - I’ll check it out. Any idea what the best approach is?

You are welcome Timothy. I don’t think you will find anything now because as you said it’s working.

Gene, dishwasher is dead again. How do I go about finding the leak in the base? I’m not sure how to even get started.
Timothy

Timothy,

Remove the bottom panel and try to find the source of the water leak. Check the wash pump and all hoses.

If it would not work then you have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet and remove the base from the tank. The instructions are attached.

Thanks again, Gene.
