How do I open the top on maytag dryer model MDG9206BWW:confused:
Remove the door hinge screws, and the door. Remove the bracket screws, and the brackets that are opposite the hinge screws. The front panel can now be removed by unsnapping it at the top corners, and pivoting it downward, to lift off the clips on the bottom of the cabinet.
This will expose two (roughly L-shaped) brackets that hook into the top. They’re attached the the cabinet with a 5/16" hex head screw on each one.
Remove the screws and the brackets, and you’re in.
Be careful not to tilt the top back too far, as it isn’t solidly attached to the back.
