Just had the thermal fuse replaced on our dryer. The dryer is less than 2 years old. Got it home and started using it. We noticed the heat goes on when you turn on the timer and the heat will only go off if the timer is set to ‘off’. I have been trying to research and saw it could be the timer or the cycling thermostat. Big price differences in the two but wanted opinions. Thanks!

You can save yourself time and money by performing the continuity test.
Unplug the dryer and remove the rear panel.
Locate the cycling thermostat on the blower housing, remove one wire off and using the multimeter check for continuity between two large contacts.
No continuity - replace the cycling thermostat [part]3387134[/part].
If it’s tests OK, check the heater first for continuity (remove one wire off), then continuity to the "ground". If the heater is open or grounded - replace it.
