Oven F9 after heating to 400

APPLIANCE: GE Profile Double Wall Oven

PROBLEM: On the top oven, when the temperature is set to 400 degrees or more, after 10 minutes the door locks and the F9 error code flashes.

NOTES:

  • We’ve had the problem ever since we did a self-clean cycle.
  • When used at temperatures of 300 degrees or less for shorter periods of time, it works just fine.
  • The control panel / console area gets VERY hot to the touch
  • There does not seem to be any air coming out from the vent at the top left front above the door.
  • The bottom oven works just fine.
  • We replaced the motherboard and the problem persists.
  • Convection fan works fine.
  • I pulled the oven out and checked the filters and air passages and they are not blocked.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION?

  • Could it be a problem with the cooling fan?
  • If so, how can I replace/fix this (I’m fairly handy :)) but I do like some sort of repair guide or something!
