Oven not working

We bought our Maytag Gas oven/stove 6 years ago, and it has worked flawlessly. The burners continue to work fine though the oven recently stopped working. The broiler still works fine and the oven electronic display continues to operate as expected (no error codes). I took off the bottom panel inside the oven and watched the bake igniter. It does not get hot or "glow" when I turn on the bake function. From reading other threads on this site, I suspect I need a new bake igniter but I thought I’d double check with the experts before I commit the $40 -$50. Do these igniters have a life span? From the pictures, it looks like a plug in assembly (after the gas and electricity are disconnected). Any special tools?
Thanks for maintaining this website. I’m a reasonably handy guy. I don’t mind paying someone to do something if it’s beyond my skill level but this seems pretty straightforward if it is the igniter.

So I posted my first message about a week ago, and finally decided to go ahead and buy the bake igniter. I received the shipment today, and installed it in less than 15 minutes. Very easy, just need a screwdriver. Oven works fine now. I probably saved $150 by doing this myself (the part was around $48) Hope this helps anyone else in the same situation…
