Oven will not heat up

GE Oven does not heat up. Bottom burner does not light…removed bottom and ignitor does not get hot. Broiler (Top Oven Burner lights) & Stove top work fine. Do I need to replace Ignitor?

I have the same problem with my GE gas range. It just happened last night when trying to use it. My top burners and broiler are working fine. I have no idea what is the problem.

Most likely the problem is a bad oven igniter. If you would like to confirm it then you have to check the igniter for continuity or check for 120 VAC to the igniter while the control calls for Bake.

If there is no continuity or if there is proper voltage then the igniter is the culprit.

What is the complete model number of the range?

Gene.

Oven does not heat up. igniter does not start. stove and broiler are fine.

Would like to suggest, you start your own thread in the Oven repair section, using Post New Topic button. Do not forget to post the complete model number of the oven.

People will then see it is someone with a problem. This should increase your odds of getting a relevant reply.
