Oven Will Not Heat

When I try to turn the oven on or "set the temperature" then press "Bake" to turn the oven on, the digital readout immediately rises to the desired temperature (it thinks the oven is already heated to temp) but no heating occurs.

Broil works but no "baking".

I replaced the thermostat but that did not help.

Next step in my mind would be to replace the lower element but being a "digital" oven, I think the problem could be in the oven’s electronics…

Any ideas on what step to take next?

Thanks!

Here are your parts

By "thermostat" I am assuming you replaced the oven sensor (Item 5 in Section 4).

Since the unit thinks it is already at operating temperature it will not heat so I doubt it is the element.
At the top of my list would be the control board (Item 7 in Section 2)

Yep… My thoughts too (about the control board) but wanted a more informed opinion than my own novice status!

Yes, the oven sensor is what I replaced.

Still, the control board is cheaper than a whole new range and close to what I’d pay someone to come fix it for me…

Thanks!

Just thought I’d let you know that replacing the control board worked!

I’ll take a $250 repair done myself over a new range any day! I appreciate the advice!

Glad to hear you are up and running.

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.

250 ain’t cheap but if you had a tech do it your bill would probably end up close to 500 with parts and labor. Then a new stove starts to look pretty good.
