Hi all I’m new here, could use some help, thanks in advance!
Just purchased a used GE Spectra and noted this intermittent problem. You set the oven using the buttons, bake, broil, convection etc. Then you set the temp using the numbers. Hit start and off she goes, all good. Heats up, cooks the food, temp comes on and off, maintains temp ok, or so it appears as nothing burns.
Now you’re done cooking and there is a clear/off button, normally that button makes a noise when you touch it and the oven goes off. Sometimes you press it and it makes no noise and does nothing. So the oven remains on at the temp and cooking you set. When it does this the only work around I have found to shut the oven off is to select a cook method, using the buttons, and then when it asks for a temp, do not set one, and click the start. This results in Err on the display and the oven shuts off.
Now I see many threads about ovens that won’t go off, shorted burners, arcs in the burners etc., but I’ve not seen anything like this anywhere. Maybe I don’t have the correct search parameters but I did try to find it prior to posting.
If anyone can help I’d sure appreciate it. Thanks again in advance!
