Overflowing Drip Pan, KitchenAid Side by Side

I came home today and found water all over the floor from under my refridgerator. It turned out that the consensate drip pan was full and overflowing with water.

I couldn’t find any leaks in the water lines but there was a lot of debris all over the coils under the unit. I cleaned this off with a vacuum and cleaned out the pan. The fan beside the pan runs. Unit has been in service 65 months without prior problems.

Is there a heater that boils off condensate when defrosting. Could the blocked coils have contributed to this?

BTW: I don’t use the water tap and it has been on RED to change the filter for years

This is a KitchenAid KSRS25ILBT13 side by side…

Many Thanks

The pan is getting water in it between the defrost cycles so I will keep looking for a leak somewhere. BTW: I turned the filter to the bypass position years ago. We have an external filter system.

Thanks for the tips
