Problem With New Motor

I purchased a replacement drive motor for a Whirlpool dryer; Part#AP3094245. We installed it per the included directions but it won’t start. I have power to the selector dial and start switch. If I turn it to timed drying I can here the timer. The motor just wont’ start. I double checked the wiring on the motor and it all looks like the diagram in the instructions. The switch and dial were working this morning with the old motor so I don’t think they are bad.

A model number may help others help you.
This motor is used in many different units.

Are the symptoms the same as the motor you replaced (totally dead) or was the old motor just weak or buzzing?

Have you checked the motor’s windings with a meter?

Many units have a thermal fuse that is in line with just the motor.
If your unit has one, have you checked it?

Dryer Model# LET6634AWO
Old Motor Model# S58NXKRD-6294
The bearings went out in the old motor. It was still running but barely.

See the attachment for your wiring diagram.

I would heck the start switch to be sure it is closing.
Bit of a long shot but worth checking.

Then check that the motor windings have continuity.
If they are open then you know for sure that the motor is no good.

I figured it out comparing it to the old motor. I had the white wire wrong. Thank you for the help! The diagram makes it look like the post right next to the red, but it has to be on a post tied into the motor windings.

Glad to hear you are up and running.

Have a good weekend
