I am having an issue with the cooling of this fridge. The original symptom was ice melting and seeing icicles on the bottom of the ice tray dripping down into the freezer and checking the fridge side it was not as cool as I wanted.
Checking the display on the front, it was showing about 4 degrees in the freezer and 40+ in the fridge, I do feel that these readings were accurate. After hours it would eventually cool down to where it was supposed to be, this would happen daily.
Well this week I changed the defrost heater and the defrost limiter thermostat based on reading some of the resolutions from other people with similar issues. The old heater was in bad shape and looked like it needed to be replaced.
The issue now is that the freezer is still having issues with the ice melting and the fridge actually seems better. The temperatures from the display say 3 degrees in the freezer and 42 in the fridge. I have put a digital thermometer in the fridge and it is reading 33 so I am not sure why there is such a discrepency in the temperature readings between the display on the door and the thermometer in the fridge.
Any help would be appreciated, I don’t have any meters or anything to give you guys readings. Based on some reading I am thinking it might be the motherboard but not sure.
