I Have Had Appro Reship Out The Same Wrong Part Wpl 12002144 Because The 4 Prong Connectors Needed For The Four Wires Had Been Changed On The Double Element Top Burner (5) On The Diagram And The Pictures To A 3 Connector. This Redesign Discovered By The Appro Research Still Leaves Me W/o A Wiring Diagram To Change The 4 Wires To 3. Does Gene Or Any Of The Techs Have Seen This Before. Crystal Helped Me 1 Week Ago But Now Appro Cs States This Was Discovered 2 Weeks Ago From Another Customers Wrong Part Sale. (notice The Wired Connector In The Old Design In The Attached Photos)

As you can see on the picture there are at least four terminals. So why do you think this part is wrong?
This part has been redesigned by Maytag and it is the correct part number for the model number you posted.
The two pictures, attached to your post, show the new element. Can you post the picture of the old part?
Gene.
Gene thanks for the reply.
Believe me it took a week plus to figure this one out. Yes, the correct redesign part number is correct on the APP site. However, the picture is not the new design but the old discontinued part. Ok.
The redesign is what APP sent me twice. pix are attached from other site of updated whirlpool part picture.
There is no big difference between the elements on both pictures. Both elements have five terminals each, three on the limiter switch and two on the element body. If you can tell me exactly which wire was connected where to the old element, I can give you the wiring instructions for the new element.
Picture of the old element with the wires connected might help better.
Gene.
Ok thanks that works for me ill take a digital photo of the wiring harness and schematic and send it to you as soon as I can. Have a great nite Gene
Heres the pictures of the wiring. Hope it helps.
The wires connected to the old limiter switch should be connected exactly the same way to the new limiter switch.
The two wires connected to the terminals on the element body should be connected: the wire connected to the terminal near the switch on the old element should go to the closest to the switch terminal on the new element. The last wire goes to the other terminal.
Gene.
