Hi - We have a SamsungRS2630sh refrigerator that just went out completely - no cooling is occuring on either side. This is after months of a loud noise, then no noise but the front inside panel becoming extremely hot, then a new noise yesterday followed by both the freezer and refrigerator compartments going out - no cooling. I’ve read up on it online, seems to be pretty common for this refrigerator -but would like to get your input as to what you think needs repaired, replaced?
If it’s less than 5 years old it’s still under warranty for the sealed system and I think the problem is with the sealed system. Call the dealer.
I had nearly the same problem with our Samsung 2630 and it was the condenser fan getting loose in its mount and then stopping. My wife had it fixed by a pro after noticing the hot center pillar but before it stopped cooling. After the fix, which I did not see but which the pro said included replacing the motor, it worked fine for about six months.
Now the noise is back back and after opening the back of the fridge myself, I believe that the only thing the "pro" did was to wrap electrical tape around the posts on the fan motor case where rubber grommets hold the motor to the mount. I decided to replace the whole fan, motor, mount system myself and ordered it here from AppliancePartsPros. In the meantime, I placed a small utility fan behind the fridge and the center pillar is only slightly warm.
