Refrigerator Gasket Install Help

I just received my new refrigerator gasket in the mail and am ready to install. I have been reading the various posts on the forum concerning this issue. It has raised more questions than clarified.

I have an RCA (GE) refrigerator model number MTX19GLG. It seems like I can pull off the old gasket and after warming the new gasket in warm water, push the new gasket into the retaining channel.

What I am confused about on the instructions on this forum is "loosening the screws." The screws are underneath the gasket holding the retaining channel into place. In order to loosen and tighten them I would have to pull the gasket out of place to do so. This seems counter-productive because I would have to put the new gasket in place and then pull out different sections and push the gasket back in after tightening the screws. Are the screws that people referring to located somewhere else? If not, is my model simple enough to simple pull off the old gasket, push the new one into place, and not even bother with the screws?

Some clarification on the screws would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
