I can’t control the temperature in the refrigerator and contents are freezing (at 16F). The gasket has been torn and I wonder if condensation may be a problem.
I would replace the cold control AP4127094 Be sure to route the sensing wire exactly where the old one was.

Hi;
I ordered the part you recommended but it doesn’t fit. The mounting dimension is wrong and, upon further inspection of the photo, it looks a little different from the original part. Would you please review this?

Look at the manufacture number on the new control, if different than the original one, you will have problems. If so, I would send it back.

Hi:
I called the chat line just now and was told that Amana had changed the part and that the one I was sent is the proper part. However it differs from the one that is in my refrigerator. The spacing between the mounting holes is different. Also, the shaft is centered between the mounting holes on the part I was sent, but is not centered on the part that is in my refrigerator.
Originally you told me I need PN AP4127094. The Purchase Order has that number and also C3615018. The part I received is marked C36150- 18. (Do the dash and space in front of the 18 have any significance?)
What is your advice?

That model # you gave does not work and I believe you must add the "P" manufacturing number, they may have changed the design in the year the item was manufactured.

Hi;
Please clarify what I must do to obtain the proper part to repair the refrigerator. It was not clear to me from your last message.

That is the same as the picture for this item on this site. The "P" number is on the name plate near the model #, just look for it. If no "P" number, the manufacturer may have never changed the design in the year the item was manufactured.
You might have to order a universal control for this AP3512625, comes with instructions.
This is a Canadian refrigerator, just over a year old. Got up this morning and found that the freezer was no longer freezing. I removed the back panel inside the freezer compartment and saw that there was no frost anywhere on the evaporator coils. All the normal sounds are there and the fan in the freezer compartment is blowing just fine.
What should I do next? Fortunately it is -38C so our frozen goods are just in a cupboard outside!
I got the model number from inside the unit, but have seen the 2R portion dropped when I was looking online so, GTH18HBCWW
Pull it away from the wall and remove the cover over the machine compartment. Put your hand on the compressor and see if it’s running. If it’s not running check for supply voltage at the compressor.
I had it unplugged so I put my hand on the compressor and plugged it in. I could feel the compressor start and the fan that sits right beside it started going. I unplugged then plugged it in again, nothing. Unplugged and plugged it in again and it went ‘click’ and then the compressor started again.
How long should it take before the tubes in the freezer compartment start to get cold? It has been on for 1.5hrs and so far the tubes are not cold at all and the compressor is not even warm to the touch.
