My refrigerator and freezer are both cold when it is turn on. I know if the refrigerator is cold enough, it will turn off itself. After certain amount of time, when it get warm the refrigerator will automatic turn on itself.
However, sometimes my fridge took too long for it to turn on itself. I notice it because I see the ice-cream in the freezer is start melting. By the mean of sometimes, it usually happen when I get off from work and no one open or close the door for about 8 hours.
So when I get home and hear no sound from the fridge, I first check the ice-cream in the freezer. If I feel it is melting, I know it has been turn off too long. If I push and release the door switch few time, it will trigger the fridge to turn on.
For all the expert, would you please let me know what is broken in my fridge?
In the fridg section, there should be a long control panel. Remove the screws in the back and peal off the overlay in the front. Remove the rest of the screws and drop down the control panel.
Next time if fails tap on the cold control or the adaptive defrost control board, you will find one of the bad.
I don’t even need to open the control panel. This morning when I wake up, the fridge seen stop running for a long time because the ice in the freezer is start melting. So I tap the bottom of the control panel where the adaptive defrost timer control board located, the fridge start running and I can hear the compressor turn on.
I already place the order of the part #4388932 and hope it fix the problem.
The cold control is near the adaptive defrost board and so is the connector. You have really not isolated the problem unless the cold control is in a different place. The cold control fails more often than the control board, so it is best to verify what is bad.You can allways send the control board back for a refund if that is not your problem.
Looks like item 6 to the left of the control board, has two wires to it and a shaft where the knob is attached. It also has a metal capillary sensor line to it.
