Refrigerator working Freezer not

I have a side by side (samsung RS2533VQ) that quit working and a friend came over and looked at it and replaced the start switch for the compressor and the refer works now but the freezer is not working. I would ask my friend but he shiped out to afghanistan. Is there something that I can test or check for the freezer.:confused:
