I’ve been given a small 4-burner Magic Chef camper stove with oven. It was removed from an old travel trailer that was scrapped.
The burners and the tubes that run to them look pretty nasty (some critters made a nest under the cooktop), but the oven part looks like it was never used. The copper gas line that runs into the back of the unit was cut through when the unit was removed from the camper trailer.
I’d like to clean this unit up and get it functional for use in another trailer. I need advice on how to go about this. What’s the best way to clean it up and make sure everything is in working order before trying to actually light the thing? And what about the cut gas line going into the back – how do I repair or replace that?
I did try a search for schematics for the thing, but I can’t come up with any. The tag under the lid says:
Gas Range for Mobile Home or Travel Trailer
No. B-966409
Model No. 140
Type Gas: LP
Rates: Oven 8000, Top Front 5200, Rear 5200
Any help on pointing me to schematics and parts for repair? Or any advice will be gratefully accepted.
