Remove light cover from French-door freezer

I am trying to replace the light bulb in my Whirlpool French door freezer compartment following the instructions from the user manual that I am including below. I cannot get the cover to budge when I push it, pull it, or try to move it side-to-side. Don’t want to break something in the process! Can someone PLEASE tell me if there is a trick to this?! Thanks.
