Replace 15 year old dishwasher?

I have a 15 year old Whirlpool dishwashwer which we think needs a new solemoid valve. Is it worth hiring the repairman and buying the part to fix, or just get a new one?

When door was opened, heard a loud snap, and all the tension is gone from the hinge/spring. HELP.

Sounds like a cable may have snapped, see Item 24 in Section 7.
You will probably have to pull the unit out from un der the cabinet to get at them.

Thanks much–that worked perfectly–part was about $14–my daughter just had the same thing happen to her identical make and model–she hired it done–over $200. Yikes and ka-ching. Thank you again.
