Replaced Clutch Assembly Now Machine Just Hums

as Stated I Have Replaced The Clutch Assembly With A Brand New One…so Now When I Put The Machine In The Spin Syclye It Just Hums And Does Nothing . At First After Replacing The Clutch Assembly It Did The Same Thing It Did Before Replacing It Turned In A Jerky Kinda Motion With A Loud Kinda Noise. I Was Told The Brake Shoes May Be Sttuck And To Put Wd40 On Them So I Did That And Now The Machine Just Sits And Humns It Wont Even Do The Jerky Spin Thing Anymore…i Am So Very New To This And Am Trying To Prevent From Just Tossing The Machine And Buying A Used One. I Have No I Dea What Im Doing And Cant Afford To Send It Off For Repairs Please Advise. On Another Note The Whiote Plastic Piece That Looks Odd That Goes To The Part Where The Brake Shoes Are …i Turned The Part That It Goes Onto And It Seemed The Brakes Locked (because I Could No Longer Turn Them Freely) So I Turned It Back And Then Applied The Wd40 To The Brake Pads And Now The Pads Turn Inside Their Housing But The Drum Or Basket Wont Turn At All . I Also Removed The Motor And Trany And Had My Wife To Start In Spin Mode To See If It Might Be The Trany And When Not Attched To The Basket The Trannies Long Shaft Spun In Jerks Like The Tub Was Doing Before Replacing The Clutch Assembly Could This Mean I Now Have A Bad Tranny ? And At 157.00 For A Tranny Would It Make Sense Just To Buy A New (used) Machine?

Did you remember to re-connect the capacitor?

Here’s a post from our Repair Forum regarding your situation.

You may want to read it over, and re check the work, you’ve done, before you go out and get another machine, I’m pretty sure you don’t have a major problem, just an improper adjustment or mis alignment of parts.

Good Luck,
