replaced kit 5304455004, now the operator panel won't work at all

My Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board smoked - literally. There was black smoke coming out of it. I read that I should not replace just the EOC, but instead should replace the kit that included the User Interface Board (UIB), EOC, and Power Board. I got the kit, installed it one wire at a time, no problems. I powered up the stove and it gives a "PF" code (power fail?). I tried to push the clock button to set the time but nothing happens when I push the button. None of the burner buttons work either. Do I have a defective EOC or do you think when the EOC smoked it also took out the Touch Sensor Electronic Control panel?

You may want to open the control panel and check all control panel ribbon cables connections.

I had reseated the ribbon cables once already but I did it again. A little more detail on the problem - all of the burner buttons will work but none of the oven or clock buttons. Basically all the buttons in the middle of the panel do not work. Any other thoughts? Thanks for your help.

Inspect the tracks in the ribbon cables for a hairline cracks, using a magnifying glass.

If the cables are damaged, then I have to replace the complete Control Panel, correct? There is no seperate PN for just the cables that I can see. The control panel is non-returnable, so if I order it and it doesn’t fix the problem, I’m out the cost of it. I’m just trying to make sure that is what I need. If you think there is a chance the new EOC is defective, I can send it back. Either way, my stove is still going to be down another week at least while I order another new part or return a defective part. Is there any way to meter the cables?

It looks to me the problem is a bad control panel while there are no any specific instructions for the control panel instrumental tests for this model.

Have you checked the ribbon cables yet? I would recommend to do it before order the part.

Appliance Part Pros has very friendly return policy which allow you to return any parts.

Just wanted to get back with you and let you know I replaced the Control Panel (with built in cables), and my stove works again! Thanks for your help.

You are welcome. I’m glad you were able to fix it.
