I have a GE model#JGBP29MEK3BS…My wife just finished running the self clean cycle on the oven and now the oven will not ignite. The broiler appears to function with no problems as well as the oven top. The oven igniter does not glow so I’m guessing the igniter is no longer functioning.
I see the replacement part (part#AP2014008) is the same as the broiler igniter. I’m wondering if I can just take out the good broiler igniter and replace the bad oven ignitor with this one as we never use the broiler, or is it better just to buy a brand new oven igniter and leave the broiler alone?
Also, any instructions on how to replace this particular igniter would be much appreciated. It doesn’t look like it would be complicated, but I’d rather not take apart something only to find out there was a much easier way.
