retaning clip for clutch

my washer wont spin and clothes are stacking up fast… any way i foung a retaing clip laying on the floorbut i don;t know how it goes on… can any one help

Push the motor clutch up till you see the groove in the shaft, then push the clip all the way in till it snaps in place.
This clip came off due to an overload of clothes that made the motor clutch hit the bottom of the washer. If clip bent, you will need a new one.

wow thanks for the quick response. i will go try pushing it up… yeah i pushed it up and found the groove but the retaining clip is bent, and won"t stay on , so i will pick up a new one . she overloaded it with throw rugs that got it off balance i guess … you were right… thanks alot…
