I have an Amana washer LW8203W that was making a random screeching sound during the agitation cycle (probably 5 or 6 screeches per cycle). I ordered a belt from Appliance Parts Pros and changed it and now the sound is still random, but much more frequent. I’ve tried to get the agitator off to check out the drive hub, but I’ve been unable to get it off. I put a strap under the agitator and rock it and pull, but no luck. Any suggestions as to the screeching sound or how to get the agitator off if the problem could be under there?
