After filling soap into dispenser … sliding plastic door won’t stay shut. Is it a worn out door or does the entire dispenser assembly need to be replaced?
Thanks,
Bud

Hi Gator
In most cases the problem is just a detergent cup latch. It needs more careful visual inspection because it could be the complete dispenser damaged.
The part number for the detergent cup latch [Model SHU4306 UC/12 (FD 8003-)](http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/ctrfs.aspx?part_id=2802332&&model_id=233108&diagram_id=196275"]AP2802332
AP3844311The part number fro the dispenser assembly
Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher [URL="http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?diagram_id=196275&&model_id=233108)
Good luck.

Hi Gene,
I was wondering if you could help me. I have a Bosch SHY66C05UC dishwasher and the soap dispenser doesn’t open to let out the soap anymore. I tried just adding the soap at the beginning of the cycle but the dishes come out terribly dirty and greasy. The door slides easily enough when I push on it and the little release lever works fine too. Do you have a diagram and /or instructions on how I could fix this myself? Also, where can I order parts from?
Thanks in advance,
John
John,
What are the two numbers after back-slash in the model number?
Gene.
Hi Gene,
Are you still there? I haven’t heard back from you yet.
John
Gene,
Thank you for looking. A few other questions for you: Would the part on my dishwasher have any markings on it that indicate what the part number is? What part is it anyway that you believe is bad? Do you have a diagram that could help me get to and remove the defective part? Can I take the defective part in to a local (Chicago) appliance parts store and ask them to get me a replacement for it?
Thanks again,
John
Thank you again Gene.

You are welcome. Keep us posted.

Hi Again Gene,
I’ve done a bit of work on this and found out several things. Appliance Parts Pro doesn’t have a diagram for it so I called Bosch and was able to find out that the soap dispenser unit is part no. 431413. They guy who gave me that number said that the problem could also be with the rinsing agent trip switch, part no. 182134 which actually comes with the soap dispenser unit but is much cheaper. Do you have any idea which one it could be?
Thanks again,
John

John,There is no way to test this trip switch (aka an optical sensor) but you can try to replace it first. You can see this part on the picture attached to this reply.
The Appliance Parts Pros part number for the trip switch is [AP2834000](http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=3196211&pn_=182134"]AP3196211
The part number for the dispenser is [URL="http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=2834000)

Hi Gene,
I just want to make sure about this. The problem I’m having is with the soap door not opening. Why do you think the Bosch guy would recommend replacing the Rinse-aid level sensor? Just by the name of this part, it seems like it is for the rinse aid dispenser - not the soap dispenser. Does it also function as something that opens the soap dispenser door?
John
I believe the whole dispenser has to be replaced, but you spoke with the manufacturer tech support and I can not argue with them.

Actually I didn’t speak to Bosch tech support. They said that talking to a tech support guy was not an option for me. I spoke with a guy who looked at a diagram and took orders for parts. He said that if I needed more information, I had to call a Bosch repairman to diagnose the problem.
John,
I would replace the dispenser. Most likely it should solve the problem.

Hi Gene,
Is it difficult to replace the detergent dispenser assembly on a Bosch dishwasher? I have model SHU43C06UC/14.
Thanks,
