Through some advice from APP.com’s parts person, I was able to source a used cooktop by doing an internet search. A new one was not available. I now have the used cooktop, which is in very good condition, and was hoping you may have some advice/tips on transfering all of the components from the old (cracked) cooktop to the "used" one. Thanks for the service.

I am replacing a cracked glass cooktop on a magic chef 7858xva, with a bare bones used one. The used cooktop is just the frame and glass, no elements, wiring, lights, nada. Everthing needs to be taken out of the cracked one and placed into the used one, and THEN mounted to the base unit. Are there any tips or tricks you are aware of to make this change over easier. If not, I’ll assume you take it off of the cracked one and place it in the used one, in sequence. Thanks again.
Are you sure they are interchangeable? What is the model number of the used cooktop which you are going to use as a spare one?
