Washer spins only for about 5 seconds and then shuts down on wash and rinse cycle. It will spin properly with a light load or no clothes at all. Checked clutch it is fine. The transmission spins properly in both directions. I have no idea what else I should check. Any ideas on this problem?
Turns out the clutch had some rust built up where it had been sitting. Clean that off and greased it now it is working good.

J, Acouple of easy things to check first: The lid and the lid switch assembly. Make sure the lid and hinges are not loose and the bearings aren’t worn out. Raise and lower the lid several times , and listen for the switch to "click"
If you have a multimeter, check and make sure the voltage remains above 108 VAC at the outlet, when the motor is in the start of the spin cycle. Low voltage will cause the motor to overheat and open the overload/safety on the motor.
Good Luck and Thanks,
