spins but clothes are still very damp

Reguardless of the load size, … after the final spin, the clothes are still very damp. There is no water in the bottom of the tub, but, if you wiggle the machine, you can hear a little slushing below the tub. I recently washed a quilt and some of the cotton stuffing came out of it and I suspect that THAT is the culpret… but, i don’t know if I can, or how… to take off the aggitator so i could clean a drain filter or something like that. (Make any sense???)

I would pull off the outer cabinet (directions at %url%) and shine a light in the tub and look for a lint clog.
If none, pull the pump off the motor and turn the shaft clockwise with a small adjustable wrench. If hard to turn, you either have something stuck in the tub, a clogged comb filter under the spin basket, or bad brake shoes.
To remove the spin basket, you will need to remove the agitator (7/16 bolt under the agitator cap) and use the special spanner wrench to remove the nut, available here AP3538707
