My front load washer makes a loud banging sound during the spin cycle. It appears to be due to contact between the outer shell and inner tub(?). The struts appear to be okay but I can’t tell how well they are working and if they damp the vibration.
Based on the posts I’ve read, this noise is likely due to bad struts or due to bad bearings…how do I tell which one it is? Since I can only buy a full rear shell assembly (instead of replacing just the bearing), I’d like to make sure that it isn’t as simple as just replacing the struts.
Any thoughts?
