Tests Tell me "Gas Valve" but this is weird!

This KitchenAid has spark igniters (not glow) and both the oven and broil do not work. Solenoid readings on the gas valve are "open" on the top and 195 Ohms on the bottom. Manual says it wants 216 Ohms each.

What’s weird is the oven stopped working about a 1.5 months ago and at that time the Ohm readings were 24.8K top and 202 bottom. The oven started working again after the testing for a few weeks and just stopped again. Difference this time is the full open on the top solenoid.

When initiating bake, there is a clicking but the igniters do not spark - there is also no smell of gas when starting a bake or broil. If starting a convect bake, same thing and the fan doesn’t spin either which has me questioning the gas valve as the culprit.

Also, have never done a self clean. Am I on the right track with the gas vale or could this be in the processor? Valve is $113 so I want to be sure before buying.

Thanks in advance

I should add that I’m ready to order the right part here right now but would really like to hear back from one of the experts first if they have an opinion. Need my oven back!!!

Roy,

I would say the gas valve is the culprit, but the tests results you posted are confusing. What kind of meter did you use? Make sure it is set on Rx1 scale and repeat the test.

Gene.

It’s a Fluke RMS multimeter with a single ohm setting. I also removed the brass cap and lightly pushed in the plunger a couple of times with a chopstik next to solenoid which didn’t help. Since the igniters dont spark at the top or bottom is there a chance it could be one of the circuit boards? I called KitchenAid and they said the boards on this unit are covered for 5 yrs.

This is much more than I had to work with, thanks Gene!
Appreciate the response and you’ll have my business if it’s not a covered part.
