My teenage children like to overfill the washer. Lately, even with light loads, the washer hops around the laundry room. Is there a stabilizing pad or spring that I should be looking at?
All teenagers overload these machines. I think it is something genetic.
Take off the cabinet and examine the springs and the support structure. This site will show you how to take off the cabinet,

and you can look to see if the support structure has somehow come loose. Click on your model number to see an exploded view of your machine, and go the base diagram to see the parts.
If you cannot find anything I would replace the support springs. It is inexpensive and a good maintenance item. In many cases you cannot tell is a spring is bad by its look, so you just have to replace them.
