The igniter stopped working on our Viking Professional 4-burner range. We can still light the burners using a match, so they’re getting gas. There is no usual clicking sound when we turn on the burners.
I also have this problem - range is the standard 30" 4 burner top, gas oven, gas broiler with convection. Oven and broiler work like a charm; I’ve replaced the oven ignitors easily and this oven has been great!. My problem with the 4 top burner is its intermittent, with no apparent pattern that causes it to happen; will work for months, then suddenly stop; a few weeks later after using a match to light as needed, works perfectly fine. May go dark for only a day or two, then work fine again for months!!! It’s never a partial failure, its always all 4 stop igniting. Most other forums say it’s never the ignitor module. I also think given the general nature of Vikings and the number of problems they have, someone else surely has come across this difficulty. What i’m wondering is the following:
- is there a suspect common electrical ground point that works loose?
- is there a suspect open ground in one of the burner dials that opens the circuit
- is there any other electrical problem that appears tandem with this one that triggers this problem
I have no problem taking the stove apart and randomly checking BUT I don’t have a wiring diagram. I’m thinking surely someone else has this problem - did you fix it? Please post if you have. Thanks!
