I have a built-in GE Monogram refrigerator (model zic360n) with a bottom freezer with an ice maker. The refrigerator keeps a temperature between 36̊ and 39̊ but the freezer remains in the high 20s. The coils in the back of the freezer have frosted over. I defrosted it manually last week and got the freezer temp down to 3̊, but that no longer works. I defrosted it again this morning at 3:30 AM, replaced the contents at 4:30 AM and without opening the freezer again it has only gotten to 27̊ fifteen hours later. The motor constantly runs and makes a little more noise than usual.
In June of 2012 the dryer ((part #WR86X96) and an access valve (part #WJ56X61) were replaced by a GE service technician; the actual problem was a slow freon leak from a tube below the refrigerator which was finally fixed in September. In August of 2009 the thermostat (part #WR50X1003)) and the sensor temp ff (part #WR55X10025) were replaced by a GE tech after another initial misdiagnosis.
I’d rather not rely on GE service. I’m handy with tools and can follow instructions. Is there a part I can replace myself that will fix this?
